Multi-Rhythmic Floral Design Workshop |November 2019
Our November 19th “hands-on” workshop/meeting was led by member, Wendy Aull. She attended the Second District design workshop on Multi-Rhythmic Floral Design and then developed a wonderful PowerPoint presentation to inform the members on the “how to’s” techniques in using certain flowers and leaves in our own designs. Thirty members created amazing floral arrangements using the flowers and leaves purchased by co-President, Kathy Posillico, Nancy Binger and Wendy Aull after having a fun afternoon in the refrigerators of local wholesale flower purveyors! All the members agreed it was fun and Wendy was very informative and took the time to walk around and help members too. Thank you, Wendy!

VA Garden Therapy Workshop | October 2019
The VA Garden Therapy workshop is truly rewarding experience for members and veterans alike as members work with veterans to make their own arrangements to bring back to their rooms. As Kathy Posillico, one of our Co-Presidents said, "It is really such a special day....one that all our members should experience at least once. The veterans are just so grateful and it is amazing what a tuna fish can and a few flowers can do to bring a smile to these veterans faces!"

Dix Hills Garden Club wins an Espoma's ‘Plant America’ Grant through National Garden Clubs of America. Espoma products were picked up at Deckers in Greenlawn and used on a Civic Beautification project at Deer Park High School. On May 31, 2019 members gathered to fill a planter with Espoma potting mix and fertilizer, in which we planted shrubs and perennials creating an attractive improvement in front of the entrance to the high school indoor pool facility.

Longhouse Reserve Tour | May 2019
Members of the Dix Hills Garden Club visited the Longhouse Reserve in East Hampton yesterday and had an amazing day. Weather was picture perfect for walking through this spectacular garden. Sculptures and outdoor art installations were surrounded by acres of gardens. Each path you turned down offered new perspectives in art in all its forms. Before visiting this garden we all met at Rowdy Hall in East Hampton for a great lunch.

Victorian Tea | April 2019
As the British would say, our Victorian Tea was “the bee’s knees”! (British translation—the height of cool.)
It was held at the Headquarters of the Dix Hills Fire Department on April 16, 2019, in a meeting room transformed into a wonderful tea room.
Not only are our members great gardeners but wonderful bakers too.
Hats adorned some heads and fun and games were had by all those who attended.

Spring SAVERS FUNDrive | March 2019
Our fund drive was a huge success! Thanks to all the dedicated members who brought their donations to SAVERS. Our club is so great because of all of you. All funds raised will be used for Community Service Projects; it looks like our Blue Star Memorial might just take place in June when the fire house has a dedication for their new headquarters. More to follow on that as we learn more from the fire commissioners.

Miko Luncheon and Meeting | January 2019
Miko Japanese Restaurant in Elwood was the venue for our first event of the year on January 15, 2019. Thirty-five (35) members and guests all enjoyed the antics of the Japanese chefs who entertained us and provided us with a delicious meal. In addition, we distributed the membership list as well as calendars for our Yearbooks. Our new co-President, Nan Gibbons, went over the agenda of the meetings planned for the year. We also inducted new member, Linda Cozart, who brings a wealth of knowledge to our club and will present a program on African Violets in October.
