Second District Horticulture Trophy |
Monthly meetings feature guest speakers, workshops, presentations, horticulture demonstrations, and group luncheons. Our Club holds an Annual Plant Auction/Sale and Victorian Tea, and publishes a monthly Newsletter describing upcoming meetings, local events and horticultural garden tips.
Community activities include creating floral arrangements for Library Outreach Services and Meals on Wheels, leading Garden Therapy workshops at the LI State Veterans Home, Creating centerpieces for the annual Veterans Testimonial Project and decorating the Vanderbilt Mansion for the holidays. Mentioned in The New York Times'Our club was mentioned in the article, Dix Hills, N.Y.: Large Lots and Good Schools. in the December 30, 2015 Real Estate Section of The New York Times. The author contacted our Publicity Chair, Nancy Binger, after seeing our brochure in the Dix Hills Library.

On October 17th, 2016, our club received the Second District Horticulture Trophy for the highest point total in the Horticulture Division!
Co-Presidents, Nancy Binger and Christine Lagana, were excited and honored to accept the beautiful Silver Trophy, which will remain in our Club's possession the entire year!

Please note: Yearly Club Dues ($40) are collected at our January meeting and members are required to attend at least five meetings per year.
