Veterans Garden Therapy – October 4, 2022
Our Recording Secretary, Kathy K. and four other members, Donna, Noreen, Sue, and Barbara conducted a flower arrangement session at the Veterans Hospital in Stony Brook. Our club supplied all the materials to the veterans who attended this "garden therapy" workshop. All the participants were so happy to make the floral arrangements to bring back to their rooms. As Noreen so aptly put it, "It was so nice to brighten their day and ours!"

Member Potluck – August 16, 2022
Our annual potluck meeting was enjoyed by all as Sharon and Ray graciously hosted our August meeting once again in their beautiful backyard. It is quite evident that our members are not only good gardeners but great cooks also! As part of our meeting, we had a scissor and tool sharpening truck on the driveway for any members who wanted to take advantage of this service.

Kokedama Workshop – July 19, 2022
Members Wendy, Nancy, Joan, and Kathy led the members in a workshop where we all created a "kokedama" (Japanese moss ball) to bring home. Our new library in Room 214 provided ample space and an Internet connection to show the members a "how to video" on how to create our kokedamas. As you can see by our photos, an amazing array of Japanese moss balls are now enjoying their new environments in our members' homes.

Dix Hills Garden Club Annual Plant Sale - May 17, 2022
Members gathered in the Gallery of our new Half Hollow Hills Community Library to offer for sale their own perennials and annuals from a local grower.
Funds raised go towards the many community service projects that the club is actively involved in throughout the year. Thank you to all our hard working members who dug up their garden plants and for those who worked so hard throughout the night to make this sale a success!

The Haborfields Library was gracious enough to allow our members to gather in their community room to create the floral arrangements, which were given to the Meals on Wheels recipients in the Town of Huntington. Many thanks to all our members who shared their time and talents for this worthwhile community project. Special thanks to Nan and Nick Gibbons for transporting 50 arrangements to the Senior Center in Huntington.

Miko Luncheon | Tuesday, February 15, 2022
Our first meeting of the new year took place at our favorite hibachi restaurant. We had a good turnout with over 30 members attending this "kickoff"
our 2022 season. We handed out a calendar of dates, which was a tentative list, as it is not always easy to find a meeting place for our members.
Once the Half Hollow Hills Community Library is open, we hope will no longer be "orphans" and again have a permanent home there!
